Nickname Font Generator
Generate decorated Unicode nickname styles for profiles and games.
Symbols that pair well with short names Click to append. Keep it to one or two — a name nobody can read is a name nobody can search for.
Nickname Font Generator turns a name into styled Unicode you can paste into a display-name field. It generates 143 variations from one short input, shows what each costs in characters, and leaves unsupported characters visible so you can see exactly what converted. Handles and display names follow different rules — this is for the display name.
Handles are stricter than display names
Most services split identity into two fields. The @handle people type to find you usually rejects anything outside letters, digits, dots and underscores. The display name beside it is generally far more permissive. Style the display name; leave the handle alone.
Examples
“Sparrow” converted by each style in this family:
『Solstice』
『𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞』
『𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲』
『𝒮ℴ𝓁𝓈𝓉𝒾𝒸ℯ』
『𝔖𝔬𝔩𝔰𝔱𝔦𝔠𝔢』
『𝕊𝕠𝕝𝕤𝕥𝕚𝕔𝕖』
Generate candidates, then test them
Names are chosen by elimination. Type the name you want, scan the styles, and copy two or three that still read clearly. Paste each into the field you actually intend to use and look at the saved result — not the edit box, which sometimes renders differently. Expect some to be rejected; that is the normal way to find out which character ranges a service accepts.
Readability at small sizes decides it
A display name is usually shown at around fourteen pixels next to an avatar. Heavy Fraktur and tightly decorated styles that look striking here become an unreadable smudge at that size. Bold, small caps and fullwidth hold their shape far better. Shrink the browser text or check on a phone before committing.
Being findable is worth more than being decorated
Nobody types mathematical script characters into a search box, so a fully styled name cannot be found by searching for its plain spelling. The usual compromise is a styled display name alongside a plain handle, which keeps both the look and the ability to be found and tagged.
How Nickname Font Generator works
Type into the box above and every available style updates as you type. This page draws on 143 styles from the nickname font generator family. The transformation runs entirely in your browser: nothing is uploaded, nothing is logged, and the tool keeps working if you go offline after the page loads. Characters with no Unicode equivalent pass through untouched, so you always see exactly which parts converted.
Which characters actually convert
Nickname Font Generator offers 8 styles. 7 cover the complete A–Z and a–z range, 1 have partial letter coverage, and 4 also convert digits 0–9. Characters without a Unicode equivalent are passed through unchanged rather than dropped.
Unicode styling is not a font
A font is a file installed on the reader's device that decides how letters are drawn. This tool cannot install anything on someone else's phone. Instead it substitutes each letter for a different Unicode character already designed to look bold, script, circled or wide. That distinction explains both the strength and the limitation: the styling survives copy and paste into plain-text fields, but the underlying data has changed, so search, sorting, moderation filters and screen readers all treat the result differently from ordinary letters.
Styles that stay letters and numbers
21 of the 143 styles on this page produce output containing no added symbols and no combining marks — just letters and digits in a different shape. Decoration is a liability in a short identifier, so these are the ones worth trying first. The “Letters and numbers only” button above filters to exactly this set.

This describes the characters produced, not how any app treats them. Whether a particular field accepts a style is decided by that application, and we publish no compatibility result without a recorded test — see our methodology.
What each style costs in characters
Measured on “Sparrow”, which is 7 characters plain. Platforms disagree about what a character is, so both counts are shown — we do not claim which one any particular service uses.
| Style | Code points | UTF-16 units | Extra cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Corner Plain | 10 | 10 | +3 units |
| Corner Bold | 10 | 18 | +11 units |
| Corner Sans Bold | 10 | 18 | +11 units |
| Corner Script | 10 | 16 | +9 units |
| Corner Gothic | 10 | 18 | +11 units |
| Corner Double Struck | 10 | 18 | +11 units |
Styles drawn from the Basic Multilingual Plane — small caps and fullwidth among them — cost nothing extra in UTF-16. Mathematical alphabets and emoji sit above U+FFFF and cost double. Why that boundary exists.
Character coverage by style

| Bold Script | Full | Full | None | Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols (U+1D4D0–U+1D503) |

Coverage is computed from the transformation itself, so it stays accurate if a style changes. Platform acceptance is a separate question — see the compatibility guide and our testing methodology.
Frequently asked questions
What is aesthetic text?
Aesthetic text combines styled Unicode letters with decorative symbols such as hearts, stars, brackets and dividers. The result is a copyable string used to make bios, display names and captions stand out without uploading an image.
How much decoration is too much?
If a reader cannot tell what your name says at a glance, you have gone too far. One letter style plus one symbol pair reads well. Heavy decoration also makes your profile harder to find in search, because people cannot type the decorated version.
Does Nickname Font Generator text work on Instagram, TikTok and Discord?
In most cases yes, because the output is Unicode characters rather than a font file, so the styling travels with the text when you copy it. Support is decided by the destination app, not by this site. Bios and display names usually accept more characters than account handles do.
Why does my copied text show as empty boxes?
A box means the character is valid Unicode but the font on that device has no glyph for it. Different phones, browsers and apps ship different fonts, so the same string can render perfectly on one screen and break on another. Test on the device your audience actually uses.
Is any of my text sent to a server?
No. Every transformation runs in your browser using JavaScript. The text you type never leaves your device, is never logged, and is not stored. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the generator will still work.
