Font Changer

Font Changer takes text you already have and changes how it looks. Paste it, compare the original against the converted version side by side, and copy the result. It works through 151 Unicode styles, and it leaves links, @mentions and hashtags in ordinary letters so they keep working.

Paste, compare, copy

Put your existing text in the left box. The converted version appears on the right, so you can see exactly what changed before committing to it. Pick a different style and the same text is re-converted — no retyping. Line breaks are preserved, so a paragraph stays a paragraph.

It does not change an installed font

A font is a file on the reader's device, and no website can install one into someone else's app. What changes here is the characters themselves: each letter is replaced with a Unicode character that already looks the way you want. The distinction is why the styling travels with the text, and why search, sorting and screen readers treat the result differently.

Characters without an equivalent are left alone

Unicode's styled alphabets have gaps. Digits have no italic form. Several script and Fraktur letters come from a different block and look slightly inconsistent. Punctuation usually has no styled version at all. Anything without an equivalent passes through unchanged rather than being swapped for an unrelated lookalike, so you can see exactly what converted.

Appearance varies by device

Unicode fixes which character a code point is, not how it is drawn. The same converted text can look heavier, wider or differently shaped on another device, and a character with no glyph in the local font shows as an empty box. That is a rendering gap on that device, not a problem with your text.

How Font Changer works

Type into the box above and every available style updates as you type. This page draws on 151 styles from the font changer family. The transformation runs entirely in your browser: nothing is uploaded, nothing is logged, and the tool keeps working if you go offline after the page loads. Characters with no Unicode equivalent pass through untouched, so you always see exactly which parts converted.

Which characters actually convert

Font Changer offers 16 styles. 15 cover the complete A–Z and a–z range, 1 have partial letter coverage, and 8 also convert digits 0–9. Characters without a Unicode equivalent are passed through unchanged rather than dropped.

Unicode styling is not a font

A font is a file installed on the reader's device that decides how letters are drawn. This tool cannot install anything on someone else's phone. Instead it substitutes each letter for a different Unicode character already designed to look bold, script, circled or wide. That distinction explains both the strength and the limitation: the styling survives copy and paste into plain-text fields, but the underlying data has changed, so search, sorting, moderation filters and screen readers all treat the result differently from ordinary letters.

What each style costs in characters

Measured on “Paste the text you already have”, which is 31 characters plain. Platforms disagree about what a character is, so both counts are shown — we do not claim which one any particular service uses.

Styles drawn from the Basic Multilingual Plane — small caps and fullwidth among them — cost nothing extra in UTF-16. Mathematical alphabets and emoji sit above U+FFFF and cost double. Why that boundary exists.
